Five study participants are being sought for a metabolism study at the Institute of Occupational, Social, and Environmental Medicine. The background to the study is a collaboration between the Federal Ministry for the Environment and the German Chemical Industry Association (VCI) to develop new methods for xenobiotics whose internal exposure in humans cannot yet be reliably measured. This includes fipronil, a common active ingredient in crop protection and veterinary medicine. The aim of the study is to investigate the human metabolism and toxicokinetic properties of fipronil after oral ingestion. For this purpose, you, as a test subject, will take a small, toxicologically safe single dose of fipronil orally. You will then provide blood and urine samples over defined periods of time. The study has received a positive vote from the Ethics Committee of the FAU Medical Faculty.
